As a senior capstone AP course, I completed a portfolio of 24 art pieces, 12 that are specific to a thesis statement
and 12 that are not. These 12 thesis-specific pieces explore the following:
"I was initially drawn to this cross-section of art and mathematics by the work of Italian mathematician Fibonacci,
specifically his work of perfectly symmetrical geometric curves. Using a singular light source I was able to illustrate
these symmetric and visually appealing patterns with the eye of a long camera shutter. My illustrations reflect the
simplistic beauty of light and how one singular line, similar to the Fibonacci Sequence, can be manipulated into a
quintessential yet complex design."
I was awarded a 5 (the highest score possible) for my AP 2-D Studio Art portfolio.
